Update from our traveling team in Africa
An email came in yesterday (April 18) from our team in currently traveling in South Africa and Zimbabwe (click here to meet the team), they gave a brief description of their time in Johannesburg with our partner Albert Street School -
We’ve spent the last two days at Albert Street School in downtown Joburg… Alpha, the director of the school, shared with us that the situation in Zimbabwe is so bad that even children, some as young as 7 years old, are running away alone and fleeing the country. Today, because it was Saturday, we spent the day with kids at a nearby park enjoying some relaxation and playing futbol. I’m sad to say, the “foreigners” team lost 2-0.
If you have not seen our current campaign for Albert Street School, check out our Empowering Refugee Student page. The team arrived in Zimbabwe today and are with our partners at YET.
