Old News

(So it's not really news anymore, huh?)

12 April 2007: EliasFest Update

First off, we want to apologize for the long delay in news updates. We've been busy gearing up for this eventful summer and can't wait to see everyone at all the exciting events upcoming. That said, we have some great news pertaining to the EliasFest....

Native Zimbabwean band Bongo Love will be joining us on May 5th for the EliasFest in Acton, Massachusetts. Their energetic mbira music will be an added delight to the already talented line-up. Bongo Love is a young quartet from Harare, Zimbabwe and is of growing popularity within their beloved country. We are very honored to have them join us. This is, however, not the surprise headliner we have been advertising. That surprise is yet to come! So stay tuned.....

Also, make sure to grab your tickets today and show your support for the communities across Zimbabwe. You can check out Eliasfest for ticketing information.

23 February 2007: ELIASFEST 2007!!

We are excited to bring this news to you today about the first annual Eliasfest! On May 5, 2007, ten bands from across the Northeast will perform in Acton, Massachusetts, to be a voice for those currently silenced in Zimbabwe.

In honor of a simple Zimbabwean father, music fans with change on their minds will come together in Nara Park for EliasFest: Voice of the Voiceless. In addition to a surprise headliner and dear friend to the Elias Fund, the audience will be hearing from The Brew, The Casual Fiasco, Clarias, Scarecrow Collection, Barefoot Truth, Tin Can Tele, 3rd Left, Old Silver Band, Geno, and Xander.

You can check out Eliasfest for ticketing information. Please come out as a show of solidarity for communities across Zimbabwe!

18 January 2007: GoodSearching Success!

It may only be pennies at a time, but we need say a huge THANKS to everyone using GoodSearch for the Elias Fund. We have witnessed a jump from just 80 searchs in October to over 6,700 in December! Because of this coordinated success, the amazing folks at GoodSearch have decided to feature the Elias Fund as one of their 'success stories'.

So thank you for Goodsearching for the Elias Fund! Please continue to do so and spread the word to all your web-searching friends. Individuals may only yield pennies, but in solidarity imagine what we can accomplish. Even the ocean is made of single drops of water.

Keep on searching here: GoodSearch

6 January 2007: Bracelets Anyone?

There has been an absolutely amazing influx in bracelet demand over the past couple of weeks and so we need to be quite honest with ... we are backlogged!!! Our store has been flooded with order for bracelets and we have run out of them. Here's the thing, an amazing girl named Ashley first started making the bracelets herself in 2005. Then some really cool Emilys (two to be exact) started helping out. But it's come to the point where our little hands just can't move fast enough and there just aren't enough hours in the day to make enough bracelets ... BUT we are working on a more efficient system!

So if you are awaiting a bracelet order, please forgive us for the delay but rest assured your order will be fulfilled very soon. We will soon clear this back-log and be back on track. Thanks for understanding and being patient with us....

1 January 2007!!

Wow! What a year it has been, and what a year we are journeying into! First off, thanks to everyone who has made the launch of the new website such a success. Keep spreading the word! Secondly, there are several Elias events coming up soon. So keep your eyes here on the site for more news related to those. If you are interested in hosting an Elias event in your hometown or school please email us at info@eliasfund.org. We hope everyone has enjoyed a blessed holiday season. The new year brings new opportunity. We are excited to see communities across the globe built stronger and stronger through the efforts of love!
