Wear One. Share One.

It started with a simple Zimbabwean phrase and has grown into a movement symbolic of hope and opportunity. Now you have the chance to join this movement by wearing a handmade ‘I am Strong if You are Strong’ bracelet and sharing one with whomever you choose.

Why Bracelets?

Community is something we all desire. Whether we are simple gardeners in Zimbabwe or college students in the United States, we know hope and opportunity flow from strong communities. This feeling resonated with craftswoman Maggie Connolly when she read Zimbabwe’s inspirational idiom. She set out to spread this message by utilizing her skill in making bracelets. When she contacted the Elias Fund she had already been at it for months, wearing her handmade bracelets and sharing them with friends.

Wear One. Share One.

“We are all part of this world community,” says Maggie. “Some of the threads are big and strong, some are thin and fragile but together we make up this really beautiful and amazingly strong piece of fabric. To make things work in our own communities we also have to make things work for our neighbors everywhere.” We want you to join Maggie’s story.

How it Works

In your own sphere of influence you have the chance to break through with a simple bracelet and an act of generosity. Plainly stated, you wear one and share one. Easy! Your purchase brings you two bracelets and the chance to tell someone, “I am strong if you are strong.”

Each copper bracelet is handmade by Maggie from recycled metal. It is raw and untreated and has its own characteristics and personality. She generously gives these bracelets to us for free so your purchase directly supports the building of a micro-agricultural farm and Elias’ new home. Our goal isn’t just to offer a product, but a new frame of mind. Come join us in spreading this message!
