Back to the Northeast

From the chill of the Midwest to the hot humidity of the South and now back to the crisp fall air of the Northeast, we have put over 5,000 miles on our blue home on wheels and seen quite the change in scenery already.

We spent 5 days last week in Florida, then began the trek northward stopping in Charlotte, NC, Athens, GA and Carborro, NC. All great shows and some historic venues. Hanging at the 40 Watt in Athens, GA was a treat as we read all the graffiti in the back stage lounges of all the incredible acts that had come through the venue. The Bongo boys were also interviewed by CNN International for a short spot that will be shown next week. We’ll keep you all posted when that airs.

We had a day off yesterday so we took some time off in Washington, DC. The fellas had never been to our nations capital and enjoyed the sights. All four were astonished as we gazed through the fence at the White House as they talked about what would happen if you were to even stop in front of the state house in Harare. It was great to get out and wander DC as it gave us a chance to stretch our legs for an extended period of time which has been hard for us to do lately.

We stopped off for the night in Havre de Grace, MD and treated ourselves to a hotel room to catch the Sox game last night. Red Sox nation has spread its influence into Zimbabwe as they have at least four fans from Southern Africa. I think we woke the people in the room below us as we jumped around singing after JD Drew completed the historic come back last night.

Off to Hartford, CT tonight where we will be joined by a plethora of friends. It’s good to be back in the Northeast.

Love from us all
