Update on Manuel
On 6 Dec., ‘07 Manuel was stabbed over a packet of sugar, here’s an update on his most recent progress:
A snippet from an email from friends in Zim - Elias and his family are doing fine – Manuel is making progress and we intend when we go to Harare next week, to get in touch with a speech therapist and get them to come down and work with him – maybe every second month or something – we’ll see how it goes
Manuel is currently back at home with Elias and the family, but must travel ever so often back to Harare to a rehabilitation center. His right arm has yet to recover its full function, and there still remains a disconnect between thought and speech in some cases. What he thinks is not always what he speaks. Questions remain as to his educational future. Nevertheless, the Elias Fund remains committed to providing Manuel hope and opportunity no matter what his future may be. His current form is nothing short of miraculous, and it could not have been made possible without support from individuals such as yourself. Thank you!
If you are interested in continuing to support Manuel in his recovery, or if you’d like to aid other students in need of medical assistance, please contact us via email at: scott@eliasfund.org
